Candy is dandy…A Willy Wonka Baby Shower

Even before we knew we had a little bun in the oven, we knew the theme of the Baby Shower. Bright Colors, Quirky patterns, Candy & Chocolate, my dear friends… welcome to a re creation of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Once we decided on the dates for the Baby Shower (yes dates) it was go go go. I immediately started working with an amazing illustrator (and dear friend) Itzi Cori on the invitations, contacted the awesome Jill (another dear friend) to recommend a venue which she did and we got (Thanks Greg!!)  and called upon some wonderful peeps who all lent a helping hand in making our Willy Wonka Baby Shower come true. I must admit It was a whirlwind of preparation, decorations, chaos etc..but hey I ain’t complaining all this was right up my alley and in the end (in spite of the cold rainy weather)  Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory became a dream come true…hmm no scratch that, Hendrix Sharpe and the Chocolate factory (there, better) Hendrix Sharpe and the Chocolate Factory became a dream come true. Viva Las Vegas!

Last week we had the opportunity to attend Wedding MBA in Las Vegas! Boy oh boy did we have a fabulous time in Sin City! We learned, we mingled, met some inspiring individuals in the industry, partied and man did we eat! Can you say AWESOME!!! We’re quite eager and excited to apply the knowledge we gained to our biz! Que Siga La Fiesta!

We all knew she was close to that milestone Birthday but none of us knew exactly when. You see my beautiful grandmother stopped telling us her real age, well for as long as I can remember and she always made sure we never made such a big fuss on her special day. So that one Tuesday evening as we all gathered at her home to enjoy an amazing home cooked meal, she dropped the bomb on us…”I can’t believe this year I’ll be 80!” Say what!?

Immediately party planning mode was on and voila Grandma’s 80th Surprise Fiesta started to take shape.
Her reaction as she walked into the so called family BBQ and heard the Mariachi singing Las Mañanitas to her was priceless. She shed tears of joy and sang along as she hugged each and every one of us. It was a wonderful day shared with family. From the Mariachi to the Cake to the Piñata, grandma was all smiles on her big day and that’s all we could ever ask for.

It’s a Dr. Seuss party ~ that’s truer than true!

The phrase “you are your own worst critic” came to mind when I was planning for my baby girl, Averey’s 1st birthday party. Wanting everything to be perfect for her big milestone, I was driving myself and my husband crazy for months! The preparation started in April after tax season was over and it lasted for months due to wedding season and other personal obligations. We were playing with the idea of either doing a Monster theme, as she can be a monster at times or a Dr. Seuss theme because this little girl loves her books, especially Dr. Seuss’s ABC book from her beloved uncle Jerry.

In May, My husband and I finally decided on Dr. Seuss since Monster theme will be played out due to Monsters Inc 2 came out in the theater in June. After months of preparation, designing and re-designing the layout of the tented picnic area, her invitations, and gathering the goodie bags, I am proud to bring you this Dr. Seuss theme birthday party for my one and only ❤

A Baptism fit for a Princess

Finally a little time to showcase Valentina’s big day! Her beautiful Mommy Nicole contacted us to make sure her daughters Baptism and 1st Birthday was as special as her gorgeous little doll and it was! Valentina’s big day was definitely one fit for a princess with lively music, delicious food, a crepe station, fairies and a very sweet first dance with her mommy and daddy. Her big party was at Noor in Pasadena and boy oh boy was the venue phenomenal and not to mention the staff which was a delight to work with!

Chic & Rustic

Well it’s been a fun filled month and we’ve had every intention to keep you all posted on our happenings but it’s been a bit of a challenge to find the time to sit back and write. But no more excuses! Today we bring to you the Chic & Rustic Bridal Shower of the beautiful Bride to be Nicole. Her wonderful Matron of Honor, Geraldine came to us asking for a Bridal Shower that would make Nicole smile with delight. To match with her summer pink wedding colors, we decided to bring a bit of Rustic to a very Chic venue in Corona Del Mar, CA . Thanks Carolina your home was the perfect back drop!  Nicole was pleasantly surprised and she was all smiles along with her wonderful friends & family.

Wedding season is in full swing. I had the luxury to take some time to check out the OC fair this past weekend with my little family and I was amazed by some of the local talent. Just check out some of the table designs being showcased!

{Jane Austen theme} this is absolutely gorgeous! It’s perfect for romantics and great setting for a tea party bridal shower!

{Travel/England theme} perfect for destination wedding and/or couples that loves to travel!

Wedding at the Library

Wedding open house at the Nixon Library? Sure why not!? Met some fantastic vendors and got a tour of the place, Wow the grounds are beautiful for a ceremony and the ballroom is well..enchanting. From the gorgeous chandlers to the romantic vibe, this venue is perfect for a couple seeking romance and enchantment for their special day.

Up in the Sky

Are you just in love with all things retro?! We are so you can imagine our excitement when we were invited to visit The Sky Room in Long Beach! Gosh where do we begin…This building operated as the first West Coast Hilton back in 1926, cool huh? and it saw its great share of celebrities, Elizabeth Taylor, Nicky Hilton, Charles Lindberg, Babe Ruth just to name a few. The restaurant is a fine dining establishment that can also be the perfect backdrop for a gorgeous wedding with an amazing view! Not only is The Sky Room a place for events but the historical building has a few other rooms that can be used for any social event! This place is an event planners dream come true and may I add the staff is fantastic! Here’s a few pics we snapped during our visit, are you salivating yet? Food was to die for!  Unfortunately, we were so mesmerized by the beautiful view, we forgot to take a picture of that, bummer…guess we’ll need to take a trip out there again! Field Trip Time! Biz Bash 2013

We had the opportunity to attend Biz Bash 2013 this past Wednesday and boy oh boy did we come out of there filled with new ideas, motivation and new friends! It was clearly worth the time and trip out to the city of Angels. Looking forward to applying all that we learned to make YOUR event AMAZING!!
